Janhvi Kapoor’s Mili and Sonakshi Sinha’s Double XL Underperform Katrina Kaif’s Horror-Comedy : Phone Bhoot

Meta Description

At the box office, Sonakshi Sinha-Huma Qureshi’s social drama and Janhvi Kapoor’s survival drama performed worse than Katrina Kaif’s horror comedy. Look inside for thorough collection reports.

Phone Bhoot Box Office Collection Day 1

Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ishaan Khatter, and Katrina Kaif starred in one of the year’s most eagerly awaited horror comedies, Phone Bhoot. The movie starring Gurmmeet Singh made between Rs 1.75 and Rs 2.25 crores. Despite the substantial potential of the genre, Phone Bhoot went in a spoofy direction that was unpopular in India.

The creepy comedy was released alongside the Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha movie Double XL and the Janhvi Kapoor movie Mili. However, Katrina Kaif’s movie will fare much better than those of Janhvi Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, and Huma Qureshi.

India’s box office records indicate “This week’s primary release was Phone Booth, which had a respectable release of 1300–1400 screens but a lacklustre opening reception of 5–10%. The film’s introduction is weak, and another issue is that this genre doesn’t develop like a concept drama. For it to have any hope at the box office on Saturday, there must be tremendous growth.

The sole positive is that it performed better at the box office than its rivals Mili and Double XL, however that is not much of an accomplishment considering that Mili performed better of the two.”

A Phone Bhoot between Katrina Kaif and Sooryavanshi box office

After her action movie with Akshay Kumar in 2021, Katrina Kaif is returning to the big screen. Given the likelihood of a terrorist attack on Mumbai, ATS chief Sooryavanshi embarks on a search for the conspirators and the 600 kg of missing RDX. The movie opened to a record-breaking Rs 20 Crore at the box office.

Contrarily, Phone Bhoot had a dismal opening day at the box office. The main character of the horror comedy is a ghost who makes a sales pitch to two ghostbusters. Then, when the eerie ghost reveals her plan, everything goes south.

Regarding the Phone Bloot with Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Ishaan Khatter

Under the Excel Entertainment label, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani produced the comedy-horror film Phone Bhoot, which was directed by Gurmmeet Singh. In addition to Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ishaan Khatter, and Katrina Kaif, Sheeba Chaddha, and Jackie Shroff also play supporting parts in the film.

Even while the statistics are low, they aren’t particularly disappointing, at least for Phone Bhoot. Being a mid-budget movie, it has a chance to succeed in the long run if word of mouth helps it gain traction over the weekend.

In the end, unless it manages to truly do something spectacular by word of mouth, like The Kashmir Files or Kantara, a 100-crore global gross may just be out of its reach.
